What is HRIS??

HRIS standards for Human Resource Information System which is a platform that connects human resources and modern information technology. This software allows human resources activities and processes to be carried out electronically. The system is used to collect and store employee data and enhance the core functions required for end-to-end human resource management, from recruitment to retirement of every employee (Erpinformation.com, 2022).

The main aim of HRIS is the integration between HRM and information technology to provide accurate information about human resource and their functioning and relevant environmental factors and to provide relevant information on time (Maamari & Osta, 2021).

  4. Simplifies predictive analysis and visualizations as the system generate various reports, provide ad hoc reporting capabilities and offer HR analytics on important metrics (ex: headcount and turnover).
  5. Empowers employees through direct accessing and making changes to their personal information without the need to contact HR. 
  6. Improves productivity as HRIS offer mobile capabilities that extend self-service and provide additional flexibility for remote workers.
  7. Maintains compliance as HRIS programs have monitoring capabilities and are designed with specific compliance regulations. This avoid legal issues, penalties and financial losses to the company.
  8. Offers security and privacy for employee data as it can only be accessed by authorized individuals.

HRM is considered very important to the entire organization as it provides new opportunities for employees and help in achieving optimal operation. It fulfills all the HR needs and help managers to improve efficiency and quality of the overall HR function of the organization.
